Use: Stamps, metered postage, etc. NOTE: Postage is not normally directly charged to sponsored awards.
Communication - Shipping Expense 6105 Expenditures for freight, express, and cartage on outgoing correspondence and packages, such as United Parcel Service (UPS), Federal Express (FedEx), and DHL. Use: Not to be used for shipping expenses on Capital Assets or cost of goods sold. NOTE: Express charges for correspondence are not normally directly charged to sponsored awards.
Student Federal Work Study-Amer Reads Expense 5590 Undergraduate student regular wages funded by Federal Work Study America Reads outreach program. Zero fringe rate
Fees - Mandatory Undergraduate Expense 8220 Payment of mandatory fees for CU undergraduate students. Normally paid via the Student Financial System. Excludes payments for non-degree students. Use: undergraduate mandatory fees.
Interdept - Fed Unallowable Svce Expense 6662 Expenditures for services from other departments or units within the university that are classified as nonrecoverable according to the Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200). Use: Advertising, printing, catering, etc. for unallowable events.
Cost Share - FAUG Expense 9979 Cost Share object code for FAUG level. System use only.
Compensation - Taxable, Retirement Expense 5430 Central use only -- not directly used for payroll expense.
Capital Equipment - Trade In Expense 7099 To record the value of a trade-in, debit the capital object code used for the new asset, and credit object code 7099 for the amount of the trade-in. The will properly record the value of the new asset to include the actual purchase price plus the trade-in value.
Supplies - Computer & Related Expense 6580 Expenditures for computers, supplies and materials and peripherals. This should include site licenses and software maintenance contracts. Use: Computers and related equipment such as computer, monitors, desktop printers, external hard drive, keyboard & mouse, audio & video equip., etc.
Extension Association - Education Expense 5258 CORNELL COOPERATIVE EXTENSION USE ONLY. Salary for NYS Extension Association temporary staff (camp and program personnel, etc.). Max fringe rate -- see KFS Labor Distribution Table Labor Benefits Calculation table for fringe rate %

Fabricated Equip Components Expense 6290 Expenditures for the component parts, materials, and labor used in the fabrication of equipment. Use: Materials used in the production of fabricated equipment
Travel - Federal Unallowable Expense 6780 Expenditures for travel and subsistence that are classified as nonrecoverable according to the Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200). Use: Alcohol, travel upgrade, etc.
