Campus Recharge Entities

In accordance with federal requirements, University Policy 3.10, Recharge Entities requires units utilizing interdepartmental charges to recover some or all of the costs of products and services, and having aggregate revenue in excess of $50,000 per year, have their rates reviewed and approved biannually. The following is the current list of facilities with approved rates. For information about a specific facility, follow the link for each facility.   • Department computers (Windows, Macintosh and Linux) and supports the group computing-server, research clusters, instrumentation, and group computer.
  • Networking, local User accounts (access authorization), software (advice, purchase, installation, licensing, troubleshooting), and domain name management.
  • Printing toner and ink supplies for department.
PhysIT group serves instructors and staff on:

Arts & Sciences Coil Multi-User Income - Sparks Cornell Stable Isotope Laboratory measures stable isotopes. The facility supports a broad community of scientists at Cornell as well as other academic institutions and organizations spanning the globe in the areas of biogeochemistry, agronomy, ecology, geology, atmospheric science, microbiology, and nutrition. https://cobsil.cornell.edu/

Arts & Sciences X-Ray Diffract Recovery Offers single-crystal X-ray diffraction services to members of the Cornell campus and other researchers throughout the region. CIT Managed Servers Provides fully-managed virtual and physical Linux and Windows servers in two on-premises datacenters and the cloud. Services include security tiers for HIPAA, and Policy 5.10 data with OS hardening and patching, firewalls, vulnerability scanning and two-factor login. High availability and data protection is provided by best-practices management, backup/recovery, load balancing, and replicated file shares as requested. CIT Server Farm The Storage Farm is offered to customers of the managed server farm. It has both internal CIT customers and campus customers from other departments. CIT Telephone Equipment Starting FY22, basic telephone service (which includes a soft client) will be an allocated cost, however, there will still be a monthly charge for physical handsets.
