DFA Conversations: Internal Controls and Fraud Risks

The next DFA Conversations event will take place later this week, on Wednesday, October 10, from 1:30 to 2:30pm, in G-10 Biotech Building. The university controller's office of DFA will be presenting this month’s program, which will bring you information on “Internal Controls and Fraud Risks.”

A tentative agenda is below:

• An update on Cornell’s overall internal control policy, as well as the initiatives of the Internal Control Committee.
• An overview of what an effective internal control framework looks like from both the university-wide and unit-specific vantage points.
• A discussion of materiality and the risk assessment process.
• A discussion of fraud risks and examples of what could go wrong.

The Zoom session will be monitored, so you will be able to ask your questions remotely during the session. Additionally, if you would like to ask your questions in advance, please submit them to Joshua Adams.

Can’t attend in person? The presentation will be broadcast via Zoom. To receive the login information for the session, you must register. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. The webinar will continue until 3:00 p.m. so that we can answer any questions you may have.
