Once you have logged in, you can invite other users/payers to Cashnet by clicking the Add New link in the box labeled Other User/Payers and entering the email address of the user being adding.
The Cashnet system will send an email to the other user/payer with a Payer ID. The Payer ID will enable the other user/payer to sign up, and to associate that user your account. Other users/payers (including parents) can then enter their payment account information.
Parents and other individuals that pay student bills must be set up as Other User/Payers by your student to access his or her monthly bursar and CornellCard billing statements.
The student is financially responsible for his/her bursar account (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)). However, students may give parents and other users/payers online access to their accounts. Adding parents or other payers to your Cashnet account grants them permission to pay the student's bills on the student's behalf and to view and ask detailed questions about the student's bursar and CornellCard accounts.
Once the student invites you, you will receive an email with the subject “Your Student has created an account for you at Cornell University’s Cashnet.” The email will contain your payer ID and a temporary password and the link you will use to sign in and create your own password.
If you plan to make payments from your own accounts (must be a checking or savings account with a U.S. financial institution), you can enter payment account information in the Saved Bank Accounts section.
