Required Courses

The Accounting Certification Program (ACP) is a 14-week program that is intended for department preparers and approvers of accounting information. Each session is instructor-led by Division of Financial Affairs staff.  Upon completing the program, students receive a certificate of attendance and 3.9 Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The program costs $135.00 and is offered three times throughout the fiscal year: fall, winter, and spring.

If you need to cancel your registration for a class, please contact Finance Training at least one business day before the class. Failure to attend or cancel any registered class 24 hours before the class will result in a $35.00 "no-show" fee. If you need to cancel your enrollment in the Accounting Certification Program, please do so before the day of the first class in the program. Otherwise, the full $135.00 will be charged to your department account.

Can't get into the Accounting Certification Program you want?

Try taking the ACP classes individually. You get the same instructors, the same materials, and the same exam.  In fact, often times you can finish faster than by going week-by-week through the actual program, or you can stretch it out over a year to better fit your schedule.*

*Some classes are offered in the same week, which shortens the cycle time for the program.  Once you've started, you should not take longer than 18 months to complete all courses.

Note: To obtain certification, staff members employed in service centers will be required to pass an open-book exam for each class (non-service center staff members may also take the exams for certification).
