Setting Up a New Merchant ID

All merchant ID (MID) requests must go through the Cash Management Office (CMO). 

To request an MID, the unit must...

  1. Complete a Credit Card Merchant Account Application form and submit it to the CMO
  2. Complete a Merchant Connect Setup form and submit it to the CMO

Once the unit has submitted the necessary forms, the CMO will...

  1. Arrange a consultation with the unit to determine the most efficient and secure processing method that meet business needs.
  2. Order the proper equipment and/or software and send it directly to the unit. 
  3. Assign a chain to the MID, which aids reporting flexibility in Merchant Connect.
  4. Notify the unit when they receive the following information:
  • MID
  • Merchant Connect user ID and temporary password
  • Chain number
