Payments may be made via wire transfer from any bank, both domestic and international. Please follow our domestic and international wire transfer instructions below to wire payments. Please allow 5-10 days for processing and be sure to include the student's name and Cornell ID number in the transaction.

Note: Cornell will not accept wires that exceed $10,000.00 over the student's account balance due. (For example, if the total amount due on the account is $10,000, you can wire funds of no more than $20,000.) Amounts wired over the $10,000 maximum will be returned, in total, to the originating bank.

International Wire Transfers

Cornell University has partnered with peerTransfer through Sallie Mae to offer an innovative and streamlined way to make international tuition payments. Our joint goal is to save international students and their families money that would otherwise be lost on bank fees and unfavorable foreign exchange rates. This service offers excellent foreign exchange rates, allowing you to pay in your home currency (in most cases) and save a significant amount of money, as compared to traditional banks. In addition, the posting of the payment into your Cornell University account will be faster, and you will be notified via e-mail when it is received.

Note: If you do not have a Net.Pay account, you can use the peerTransfer website.

Instructions

  1. To get started, log in to the Net.Pay system, go to the Bills tab, and then click on Pay Now
  2. Under Payment Method & Account Information, click the link for International Payments
  3. Select the country from which funds will be coming and the payment amount in U.S. dollars that you wish to make to your student bill
  • In most cases, the U.S. dollar amount will be converted into your home currency at preferential exchange rates, which will translate into savings for you
  1. After providing some additional, basic information, you will book the transaction and will be instructed via e-mail on how to pay peerTransfer from your home country bank account
  2. peerTransfer will then forward the U.S. dollar amount to Cornell University, where it will be directly credited to your bursar account
  3. You will receive an e-mail to confirm receipt of payment

A dedicated peerTransfer customer service team member is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to answer any of your questions by chat, Skype, e-mail, and telephone. Contact information is available at Cornell.peerTransfer.com.
