Budget Tips

When budgeting for tuition and expenses, be sure to include the following tuition expenses billed to the bursar:

If your semester budget does not cover your tuition expenses adequately, you will be responsible for paying the difference of expenses not covered by financial aid, between your budgeted amount and the actual amount billed to the bursar before registration.

Note: Before signing up for the installment plan, consult the Budget Calculator. Go to TuitionPay, and then select "Budget Calculator" from the left-hand menu.

It is important that you budget your payments as accurately as possible, and include only expenses billed through the Bursar. If you include off-campus living expenses, you may not be able to get a refund for the overpayment on your bill until the payment plan ends. Important: Enrolling in the Cornell Installment Plan will not enroll the student in any meal plans or housing programs. To enroll in those services, please contact the Dining or Housing offices separately.
