Finance Professionals Mentor Program

As it does each year, the Division of Financial Affairs (DFA) is gearing up for another successful season of its Finance Professionals Mentor Program. This popular program, which was created by DFA in partnership with campus units, offers you a first-rate opportunity for learning and professional growth in the areas of finance and administration. The program pairs mentors and protégés, including staff members from DFA and campus business service centers (BSC), members of the Senior Financial Group (SFG, a.k.a., College Business Officers), and any other staff members with finance and administrative responsibilities.

Program Objectives

  • Discover networking opportunities across campus
  • Develop a better skill set appropriate to your career goals
  • Gain a broader understanding of the university and career possibilities
  • Learn how to pursue a career in finance or administration at the university

Requirements

  • Attend a one-hour training session
  • Spend a minimum of one hour per month for one year with your partner
  • Respond to quarterly requests for feedback as you move through the program

Each person's participation in the program will last for one year, from September 2009 through August 2010. If the two staff members wish to continue meeting after that, it is totally
voluntary and outside the scope of this program.

If you think you may be a valuable member of this program, as either a mentor or a protégé, we encourage you to send your application by e-mail to Judy Small or by campus mail to the following address:
