Authorize a Pay Rep

Cornell employees required to process payroll transactions (such as approving or editing timecards, signing off payroll, submitting on- or off-cycle checks requests, etc.) must have authorization to do so. This includes payroll representatives (pay reps).

A payroll representative (pay rep) is an individual authorized to perform payroll functions within the unit or department.

Authorization Process

Submit and e-mail request to, and include the following information:

  • Requesting payroll access as a pay rep
  • The employee's name and EmplID
  • The pay rep group numbers and departments
