About the Bursar

The University Bursar oversees the activities involved in billing an collecting tuition, fees, and other charges incurred by students, as well as student loans. Services include an on-campus student charge card (CornellCard), an electronic billing and payment system for student Bursar and CornellCard accounts (Net.Pay), direct deposit of student refunds, an electronic 1098-T service, and an electronic student loan exit interview system.

Some other services the bursar provides include the following:

  • Collection of delinquent student loans and Bursar and CornellCard accounts, as well as receivables for some university units
  • Cashiering and related support services, including third-party billing and processing tuition insurance claims
  • Processing and reporting student charges submitted by university units
