- The new account request service will help you categorize your new account for university reporting purposes.
- Review and approval will be done by the appropriate individual in the Division of Financial Affairs, based upon the account characteristics.
- You will receive an e-mail confirmation when the request is processed.
- To create sponsored funds accounts, use the Sponsored Projects Portal.
Note: Use the search tool to find an award record.

- Request that an account be deleted if you never expect to use it again for the same business purpose. The account must be valid to be deleted. Accounts are only deleted at final year-end closing.
- Request to have the activity on an account stopped.
- Request to have an existing delete and/or stop removed from an account.
- Receive an e-mail confirmation when the request is processed.
- Contact Sponsored Financial Services for information about deleting sponsored funds accounts.

New Account Set Up Types
- Current Fund Assets
Cash; inventory; petty cash; prepaid/deferred expense and receivables
- Current Fund Liabilities
Accounts payable; agency funds (flow chart that may require additional forms to be completed); deferred revenues; deposits; and other
- Current Fund Balances
CU appropriated (endowed divisions only); deans' funds; department funds; enterprise/service units (endowed divisions only); gifts (includes temporarily restricted, unrestricted, plant, gifts with reporting requirements, and endowment income); recharge center/service facility and state appropriations (contract colleges only)
- Plant Fund Balances
Flow chart for determination (renovations over $50,000 require a Project Approval Request (PAR) and answering questions in flowchart)
- Sponsored Funds
To create a sponsored funds account, use the Sponsored Projects Portal, and use the "General Query" portal view.
Direct sponsored funds account changes and deletes to Sponsored Financial Services. These types of accounts do not normally require deletion, because they will expire with the award end date that is specified when grant proposals are approved.
Account Maintenance
Please request account maintenance changes via e-mail. Changes include adding or changing closing cycle information; changing the account title; changing the remittance address; changing the custodian for a petty cash account.
Note: The account purpose cannot be changed.
