When a new university gift account is needed, units must follow the instructions below for establishing a new general ledger account.
- Collect all pertinent information:
- Letter signed by donor
- Fundraising brochure
- Memo from unit head or development person to document donor intent
- Request new account using the "create new" button in the upper right-hand corner of the Account e-doc, which located under "Lookup and Maintenance" on the KFS Main Menu tab.
Attach scanned electronic documentation to the request for the new account.
- Departments can request restricted or unrestricted gift accounts only. Only Alumni Affairs and Development (AA&D) can set up invested fund accounts. Requests for gift accounts will be routed through KFS to AA&D for review and approval.
