System Structure

The university receives funding from a variety of sources. All university employees involved in financial transactions are responsible for the proper stewardship of university funds. Inherent in these responsibilities is the requirement to operate the institution under guidance set forth by the Board of Trustees to follow generally accepted accounting principles and to comply with related federal, state, and local regulations.

Cornell's accounting structure has changed with the implementation of the Kuali Financial System (KFS). For information about the KFS accounting system structure, including the new account attributes, see the Chart of Accounts pages on the KFS at Cornell Web site.
