Financial Mentoring Program

The Division of Financial Affairs (DFA) as a good partner, steward, and innovator, has launched a Financial Mentor Program to encourage staff professional growth and career development in all areas of finance and administration.  The program includes mentor/protégé relationship pairings between those in finance and administrative positions across campus, as well as within DFA. This opportunity is being offered to DFA, the Business Service Centers (BSC) on campus and the Senior Financial Group (SFG; a.k.a. College Business Officers).

Program Objectives
  • Discover networking opportunities across campus
  • Develop a better skill set appropriate to your career goals
  • Gain a broader understanding of the university and career possibilities
  • Learn how to pursue a career in finance or administration at the university

Requirements

  • Attend a one-hour training session
  • Spend a minimum of one hour per month for one year with your partner
  • Respond to quarterly requests for feedback as you move through the program

Each person's participation in the program will last for one year, from February 2008 through January 2009.  If the two staff members wish to continue meeting after that, it is totally voluntary and outside the scope of this program.
